Laser Resurfacing is a relatively new procedure used mostly to minimize the appearance of fine lines, especially around the mouth and the eyes. The Surgeon uses a carbon dioxide laser to remove areas of sun-damaged or wrinkled skin, layer by layer.

Candidates include men and women of all ages, ideally with fair, healthy, non-oily skin. Laser resurfacing has the advantages of precision, minimal bleeding and less post-operative discomfort.

During the procedure, the activated laser is carefully passed back and forth over the skin until the surgeon reaches the level that will make the wrinkle or scar less visible. Emolliants are used to keep the tissues moist until new skin grows.
