Specializing in cosmetic breast surgery, Dr. Baird offers a variety of services including breast augmentation, breast lifts (mastopexy), combination lift (mastopexy)/augmentation, correction of complex implant problems and breast reduction. His other cosmetic interests include liposuction, ultrasonic liposuction, laser liposuction (slim or smart) and body contouring surgery (Abdominoplasty). Additionally, Dr. Baird performs a wide range of facial cosmetic surgery such as endoscopic brow lifts, facelift, neck lift and eyelid surgery. Non-invasive procedures such as Botox, fillers, chemical peels are offered as adjuncts to facial cosmetic surgery. In addition, a group of very experienced Aestheticians is also available to provide up to date state of the art skin care.
With more than 20 years experience in breast reconstruction, his chief reconstruction interest, Dr. Baird is well skilled in procedures such as the TRAM flap (using the patient's own abdominal tissue), tissue expanders, and combination latissimus flap and expanders.
Dr. Baird graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed his residency in general surgery and plastic surgery at Emory University School of Medicine. He also completed the Mailman Fellowship in plastic surgery at the University of Miami. Following that training, Dr. Baird served as assistant professor of plastic and reconstructive surgery at Emory University from 1987 to 1991. He entered private practice at Piedmont Hospital in 1991, where he served as Chief of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Baird has been with Atlanta Plastic Surgery since 1998.
Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Baird is a member of both the American Society of Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He has lectured and published extensively in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Baird's hospital affilations include Piedmont Hospital and Northside Hospital. In addition, he is affiliated with Northside Sandy Springs Outpatient Surgery Center, a fully accredited state of the art oupatient surgical facility with overnight stay suites.
Dr. Baird works closely with his assistant of more than 20 years, Lucretia Lucear and the excellent team of Nurses at Atlanta Plastic Surgery. Dr. Baird and his assistant's philosophy and goal is to provide personalized care to each and every patient.
