Dysport®
Dysport® contains purified botulinum which, when injected, temporarily relaxes facial muscles to erase visible wrinkles. Most patients continue to notice the effects of Dysport® up to four months following the procedure. Dysport® is one of only two treatments approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of wrinkles by injection.
To perform Dysport® injections, our doctors will examine the areas where you wish to minimize wrinkling and administer several tiny injections to relax targeted facial muscles. There is no anesthesia required for Dysport® injections. A cold compress is sometimes used to numb the area before injection. The entire procedure takes under 15 minutes. Discomfort is minimal and brief, and it is unlikely you will develop significant side effects although some patients develop slight temporary bruising at the injection site, which can easily be covered by makeup.
