Now in his 23rd year of plastic surgery in Atlanta and his 27th year in the field plastic surgery, Dr. Frank Elliott is world renowned for his contributions to cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Noted for his extensive experience perfoming breast enhancement, facelift, endoscopic browlift, eyelid rejuvenation, and liposuction, he has been board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery since 1984.
Dr. Elliott has performed liposuction since its introduction in 1984, and has developed specific cannulas to allow for efficient removal of excess fat through tiny incisions: minimizing postoperative bleeding or dimpling. He was also on the forefront of developing the short scar facelift, which has expanded the indications for facial aging procedures in younger patients who may not have considered a facelift previously. The short scar “mini facelift” technique also offers rejuvenation options in a local anesthesia setting.
Dr. Elliott is co-owner of AYA Medical Spa, which specializes in a myriad of medical grade skin treatments. Through his association with AYA, Dr. Elliot often recommends medical treatments of the skin to amplify the cosmetic surgery procedures he performs.
Dr. Frank Elliott developed and introduced the revolutionary mammoplasty technique to breast reconstruction as well as significantly refining the TRAM flap method (breast reconstruction using abdominal tissue). He served as the Program Chairman and Director of the internationally recognized Breast Surgery Symposium in Atlanta from 1988 to 2004, and has served as the Syposium’s Co-Director since 2004.
Dr. Elliott travels extensively, operating and teaching across the U.S. and internationally. Dr. Elliott served as the 2001 President of the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. He is a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. He graduated from Vanderbilt University Medical School, completed his General Surgery residency at Vanderbilt and Tulane and completed his Plastic Surgery residency at Emory University. Dr. Elliott is affiliated with both Northside Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta. His cosmetic surgery practice utilizes a state of the art outpatient surgical center, Northside Sandy Springs Outpatient Surgery Center. This center features one-on-one anesthesia care by M.D. anesthesiologists from Northside Hospital as well as overnight units with one-on-one personalized nursing care for patients who prefer to stay overnight after their surgical procedure.
Dr. Elliott’s team consists of his physician’s assistant of 23 years, Patti Bergey, P.A.-C. and his secretary, Suzanne Campbell. This team, along with an experienced group of in-house aestheticians and nurses provide an up-to-date, professional total care experience for Atlanta cosmetic and reconstructive surgery patients.
On a more personal note, Dr. Frank Elliott is married to Tracy Elliott and has two daughters. Dr. Elliott’s hobbies include travel, golf, biking, mountain climbing, and reading history.
