Forehead Lift - Upper Face Lift at Atlanta Plastic Surgery
With age, many people begin to form expression lines, or wrinkles and furrows on the forehead. Thus, a forehead lift, also known as a brow lift may be recommended to give the face a more lifted, rejuvenated look. A forehead/brow lift can help correct aesthetic problems by minimizing the furrows between the eyes or on the forehead, lifting the upper eyelids by getting rid of heavy, excess skin on the brow, or raising the position of the eyebrows for a more alert look and youthful brow arch.
Candidates include men and women, usually in their forties to sixties, who have visible effects of aging including the forehead furrows, frown lines, and “hooding” over the eyes caused by excess skin. It can also help people with inherited conditions, such as a droopy brow or furrowed lines above the nose.
In order to minimize incision lines, surgery incisions are hidden in the hair on top of the forehead. Forehead skin is then carefully lifted and the skin and muscles that cause the aesthetic problems are then removed or altered. Another advanced surgical method for upper face lift involves making very small incisions and endoscopically removing excess fat found in the brow area. This procedure significantly reduces the risk of post-operative numbness of the scalp and hairline.
This procedure is often done in conjunction with laser resurfacing to even skin tone and texture after the procedure.
