Although the phrase “breast enhancement” is typically associated with breast augmentation surgery and breast implants, I believe breast enhancement is a far more comprehensive term. To me, breast enhancement can describe any plastic surgery procedure that helps a patient alter the size, shape, or positioning of her breasts to help satisfy the need for aesthetic change. This can be achieved with a breast augmentation, a breast lift, breast reduction, or a combination of more than one of these breast procedures if needed. Patients often ask me questions like “How do I get perfect breasts?” or “What is the best approach to breast enhancement?” In my experience, there is no perfect or best way per se; only what is most appropriate and helpful for your specific needs and preferences.
Every patient wants the best from their plastic surgery experience, but one thing I’ve learned in my years as a board-certified plastic surgeon is that what is right for one person may not be best for another. No two patients’ needs and expectations are exactly the same. This is why I work so hard to get to know each one of my patients during the pre-surgery consultation phase. This helps me gain a full understanding of their issues and what they hope to achieve through their procedure. Only by collaborating and communicating can we together develop the appropriate surgical plan to provide the most natural-looking and satisfying results for you.
In the video below, I explain the different types of breast enhancement in detail and how I work with each patient to help determine the best-possible plan for their cosmetic breast procedure(s).
While these procedures may be considered cosmetic in nature, I strongly believe that their benefits go far beyond improving a patient’s appearance. When performed by an experienced, skilled board-certified plastic surgeon with a passion for patient care, cosmetic breast surgery can offer potentially life-changing results for both the body and mind.
