As a board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in procedures of the breast and body with decades of experience, I have observed that certain plastic surgery procedures are much more popular at certain times of the year. Specifically, in the months just prior to the summer (April to June) I often see a significant increase in the number of patients seeking body contouring procedures, particularly breast augmentation, liposuction, and buttocks augmentation with fat grafting. People are eager, after a long winter, to get back outside into the warmth, but want to look their best no matter what the summer might have in store.
Still the most popular cosmetic plastic surgery procedure performed in the United States today, breast augmentation involves the surgical insertion of a saline or silicone implant to augment the shape and size of the breasts. Ever since I completed my fellowship in breast surgery with renowned breast reconstruction pioneer and Atlanta Plastic Surgery co-founder Dr. Carl Hartrampf more than twenty-five years ago, I have performed thousands of both cosmetic and reconstructive surgical breast procedures. This extensive experience helps to ensure that I produce the most natural-looking breast augmentation results time and again.
Many of us have problem areas, isolated deposits of fat that seem to resist the best efforts of diet and exercise. Although, as I frequently discuss in my Mind the Body blog series, liposuction is no substitute for a healthy diet and consistent exercise program, it can often be a great way to target and remove those pockets of fat that won’t budge and give the body a more youthful and contoured silhouette. In my practice, I use the latest liposuction technology to produce excellent results with the least amount of discomfort and the shortest post-operative downtime possible.
Buttock Augmentation with Fat Transfer
One of the fastest growing trends in plastic surgery today is the Brazilian Butt Lift, a procedure that uses fat removed from other areas of the body via liposuction to add volume and projection to the buttocks. Not only is this procedure extremely safe, because the exclusive use of material taken from the patient’s own body minimizes the risk of post-operative infection, but the fat transfer procedure is also remarkably versatile, since the purified fat can also be used to add volume to the breasts or even to the face if necessary.
Every patient is unique, and individual recovery times can often vary significantly, however most of these procedures can have patients back to regular activity and looking amazing in as little as two to four weeks.
