Atlanta Plastic Surgery Now Offering Sciton® Laser Technology
The highly skilled surgeons of Atlanta Plastic Surgery, P.C. have recently added Sciton® laser technology to their menu of non-surgical procedures. Sciton® is for patients seeking treatments for minor to moderate skin conditions such as acne, wrinkles, sun spots, and even unwanted hair. Sciton® offers two lasers in one, Erbium and Broadband Light™ (BBL), making this technology versatile and customizable to target individual patient’s needs.
The Erbium laser is used for more prominent skin conditions such as wrinkles, scarring, keratosis, and sun damage. Using light energy to heat tissue within the epidermis, Erbium removes the top layer of dead, damaged skin cells and stimulates collagen production to create younger, healthy cells. Erbium can be used on the neck, face, chest, and hands. The BBL™ Sciton® laser can be applied to any area of the body and is used for more minor conditions such as acne, uneven skin tone, and unwanted hair. Like other non-surgical procedures such as Ultherapy® skin tightening or chemical peels, Sciton® requires minimal downtime.
While the Erbium laser uses light energy to directly target skin, BBL™ uses pulses of light energy to improve skin complexion. Depending on the desired depth of treatment with the Erbium laser, the machine can be set from 4 to 50 microns deep to treat different areas. The BBL™ produces pulsed photothermal energy that works to resolve skin imperfections.
Sciton® laser technology will be available through Atlanta Plastic Surgery’s AYA Medical Spa at Northside.
