Answering the Most Common Atlanta Plastic Surgery Questions
As one of the premier centers for cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery in the southeast for over forty-five years, Atlanta Plastic Surgery, P.C. has had the opportunity to serve our patients in many different ways. It has always been one of our guiding principles that education is one of the most valuable services that we can provide, which is one of the reasons why we participate in professional conferences like the annual Atlanta Breast Surgery Symposium. Here are some answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we have received from our patients over the years.
What are the best options for breast reconstruction after cancer treatment?
Atlanta Plastic Surgery, P.C. (APS) has been on the forefront of breast reconstruction research since performing TRAM flap procedures for reconstructive breast surgery since the 1980’s. Today, our providers take pride in being able to offer a wide variety of breast reconstruction options, including reconstruction with implants, tissue flaps, or tissue expanders, to accommodate the differing needs of each individual patient. There is no single best option for breast reconstruction, but our extensive experience allows us to help each patient determine which options are best for them.
What are the quickest and easiest ways to alleviate the signs of facial aging?
While various facelift procedures have long been able to address a number of facial aging concerns, some of the most popular facial rejuvenation procedures today involve minimally-invasive injectable cosmetic treatments. A simple ten minute treatment with Botox®, for example, can temporarily relax the facial muscles responsible for the formation of frown lines and crow’s feet, leaving the forehead and areas around the eyes smooth and wrinkle free for up to several months. Similarly the loss of facial volume, sagging jowls and shallow cheeks can often be alleviated with injectable facial fillers, like Juvéderm®, Restylane®, or Perlane®.
What are the latest developments in plastic surgery technology?
Plastic surgery is a constantly evolving field, and we at APS are constantly adding new treatment options to stay on the cutting edge. Some of the most exciting new technology available involves the use of energy to treat the signs of facial aging non-invasively. Laser skin resurfacing with the Sciton® laser system can smooth out facial blemishes, bumpy skin texture, acne scarring, and even fine lines and wrinkles with pulses of laser light. Ultherapy® skin tightening, on the other hand, uses high-frequency sound, similar to that used during an ultrasound procedure, to gently warm the deepest layers of skin, stimulating collagen production and firming and tightening loose skin from within.
Do you offer any special payment or financing options?
At Atlanta Plastic Surgery we offer a number of financing and bill pay options that can be customized to suit each patient’s individual needs. Many of our providers proudly accept health insurance from Humana®, Blue Cross Blue Shield®, Aetna®, Cigna®, United Health Care®, and in some cases Kaiser Permanente® for medically necessary or reconstructive surgery. For cosmetic procedures not covered by insurance, we can provide financing through CareCreditSM, a credit card specifically for medical payments that can be used for any number of plastic surgery procedures.
If you have additional questions about CareCreditSM or Alphaeon® through Atlantic Plastic Surgery or about any of the plastic surgery procedures our providers perform, contact us at one of our Atlanta, Alpharetta, Cumming, or Newnan offices.
