What Are Some Common Cosmetic Surgeries You Might Consider for the New Year?
As we begin another new year, some patients may think about cosmetic surgery to help improve their appearance. This is especially true if you have been working hard to get fit and stay healthy. One thing that these four common procedures have in common is that they can help patients take care of excess skin or fat caused by natural aging and weight fluctuations. Let’s discuss four of the more common surgeries we perform here at Atlanta Plastic Surgery at the beginning of the new year.
Breast Lift
Over time, the breasts may sag due to gravity caused by heredity, age, weight fluctuations, breastfeeding, and pregnancy. A Breast Lift (or mastopexy) can raise the breasts back to a more natural position by removing excess skin and repositioning tissue thereby improving the breast shape. It is not uncommon for a Breast Lift to be combined with Breast Augmentation or a Breast Reduction.
Tummy Tuck
Many patients may be at a normal weight but despite diet and exercise are unable to move stubborn fat and loose skin. A Tummy Tuck (also known as abdominoplasty) can flatten the abdomen by removing excess skin and tightening the muscles in the abdominal wall. A Tummy Tuck is favored by many women to restore their taut abdomen following pregnancy or excessive weight gain and may be combined with liposuction in some cases.
Liposuction
Liposuction removes fat deposits and reshapes areas such as the waist also known as “love handles”, arms, hips, thighs, and more Liposuction can remove stubborn fat deposits that remain despite exercise and diet.
Facelift
A Facelift (or rhytidectomy) can help improve the inevitable signs of wrinkles and sagging that comes with age, due to gravity, smoking, and stress A Facelift will remove excess skin and reposition underlying tissue to provide a more youthful appearance. A Facelift can also be performed on a smaller scale as a mini lift and sometimes be combined with an eye lift or brow lift.
