What is a Daddy Makeover?
You may have heard the term Mommy Makeover, cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures which many women undergo following their childbearing years. What you may not have heard as much about until recently is the term Daddy Makeover, sometimes also referred to as a Daddy Do-over. A Daddy Makeover can combine several cosmetic and plastic procedures into one surgery and one recovery period. According to leading plastic surgeons, Daddy Makeovers are gaining in popularity as men who have devoted their full time to work and parenting strives to shed the so-called “Dad bod.” Actually, men don’t even have to be fathers for a Daddy Makeover. Many men as they get older want to get rid of extra fat and reshape their bodies for a younger, leaner look.
What does a Daddy Makeover involve?
A Daddy Makeover can consist of one or several procedures. Among the most popular are liposuction, to remove body fat, and gynecomastia, or surgery to remove what is commonly referred to as “man boobs.” Other procedures for a Daddy Makeover may include eyelid surgery, tummy tuck, neck lifts, and more.
Who is a candidate for a Daddy Makeover?
Men seeking a Daddy Makeover should be in general good health and have reasonable expectations about their goals and results. They should be a non smoker or committed to quit smoking.
What about recovery time?
Depending on the extent of the procedures, recovery time can vary from one to six weeks. For example, recovery time from male breast reduction, eyelid surgery, and liposuction would be shorter than recovering from a facelift or tummy tuck. All of this depends on the individual and would be discussed during a consultation.
