Meet Dr. Fernando Burstein’s Medical Team
at Atlanta Plastic Surgery, P.C.
Kalyani Pandya, MMSc, PA-C
Certified Physician Assistant
Dr. Burstein’s Physician Assistant, Kalyani Pandya interacts with patients in both a clinical and diagnostic setting and directly assists Dr. Burstein in the operating room. She enjoys having the chance to personally interact with and educate patients and their families and finds it particularly fulfilling when she can help patients “attain confidence through aesthetic or reconstructive surgery.”
Kalyani has an extremely cosmopolitan background. Born in Gujarat, India and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, she is fluent in English, Gujarati, and Hindi. After completing her undergraduate studies at Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, she went on to Mercer University, where she obtained her Masters of Medical Science and specialist training as a Physician Assistant. Some day she hopes to use her medical training during mission trips, and so looks forward to learning surgical techniques from “a surgeon like Dr. Burstein who is truly a master in his field.” Kalyani is an avid reader, so you’re likely to find her re-reading the Harry Potter series, and she also enjoys traveling, tennis, and spending time with her family, particularly her young nieces and nephews.
Michelle Coppenger, RN
Aesthetic Consulting Imaging Specialist
Michelle Coppenger received her Bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Delaware. She has worked in the Atlanta Plastic Surgery offices and operating rooms for over 20 years. Serving as Dr. Burstein’s Aesthetic Consulting Imaging Specialist, Michelle photographs patients before their procedures and then shows them the potential results that cosmetic surgery can accomplish based on each patient’s goals through imaging software. Coppenger’s work also helps Dr. Burstein because he uses the images as a reference during surgery. Along with surgical imaging, Michelle Coppenger also performs non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments like Matrix RF™ non-laser skin resurfacing and Ultherapy® non-surgical facelift.
Michelle’s favorite part of her job is interacting with patients and showcasing what can be achieved through cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. When she’s not in the office, Coppenger spends time with her teenage daughter, playing tennis and working with her favorite outreach groups like the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, National Charity League, Community Action Center in Sandy Springs, and Foster Care Support.
