Frequently Asked Questions about CoolTone™
What is CoolTone™?
CoolTone™ is a unique, non-surgical body contouring treatment that helps patients improve their muscle tone. The treatment is FDA-cleared for toning, firming, and strengthening the muscles in different areas including the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs.
How Do CoolTone™ treatments work?
The treatment uses a process known as Magnetic Muscle Stimulation (MMS) to send electromagnetic energy into the muscles. This causes involuntary contractions that strengthen the muscles underneath the treatment area.
How Does CoolTone™ differ from CoolSculpting®?
Unlike CoolSculpting®, which uses extreme cold to treat stubborn, excess fat, CoolTone™ cannot be used as a fat reduction treatment. The two treatments are not meant to be interchangeable.
Are there any side effects associated with CoolTone™?
The treatment is very safe and requires no downtime for recovery. Some people may experience some degree of redness, swelling, tingling, or mild muscle pain, following their treatment. However, these effects are typically minor and temporary.
How long does a CoolTone™ session take?
The length of a Cooltone™ session varies somewhat from person to person, depending on which areas and how many areas are being treated. Generally, treatments take less than an hour per area treated.
Are the results immediate?
Cooltone™ results may be noticeable as early as three weeks following treatment, but the most vivid changes take about three months to become fully visible.
Is CoolTone™ painful or uncomfortable?
There’s no significant pain or discomfort associated with a typical CoolTone™ session. Most patients report feeling a sensation of warmth in the treated area, as well as intense muscle contractions, but these sensations generally dissipate within a few minutes of the treatment.
How many CoolTone™ sessions will I need?
It differs from person to person, but most require four to six CoolTone™ sessions to achieve their desired results (followed by future maintenance sessions). One of our providers will base his or her recommendations for you on your existing muscle definition and your personal preferences and goals.
