Frequently Asked Questions about Financing and Insurance

What plastic surgery procedures can be covered by health insurance?
Most health insurance plans will cover only reconstructive plastic surgery procedures, such as breast reconstruction and facial reconstruction, and may also cover procedures that provide relief for chronic health conditions, as may be the case with rhinoplasty (nose surgery) or breast reduction.  However cosmetic procedures that provide purely aesthetic benefits, like breast augmentation or tummy tuck surgery are generally not covered. The specific details of individual health insurance plans can vary considerably, so be sure to contact your insurance carrier to determine the specific details of your plan.

Do all Atlanta Plastic Surgery doctors accept insurance?
While all of our providers accept some forms of insurance, each provider may not universally accept the same types.  During your consultation it is important that you discuss with your individual Atlanta Plastic Surgery physician whether or not they can accept your specific insurance plan.

What types of insurance do you accept?
Currently, all of the board-certified plastic surgeons with Atlanta Plastic Surgery, P.C. accept Humana® and Piedmont-WellStar health insurance.  In addition, certain individual APS surgeons may also accept Blue Cross Blue Shield®, Aetna®, Cigna®, or United Health Care®.  Check with your specific physician to determine which insurance plans are accepted.

If I don’t have insurance, are there financing options available?
Absolutely! Atlanta Plastic Surgery is happy to provide our patients with financing through either the Care Credit® or Alphaeon™ financing programs. These establish a line of credit that can be used on virtually anything from minimally-invasive anti-aging procedures to full body contouring plastic surgery and more.  Payment plans are generally structured for 6, 12, 18, or 24 month schedules in order to suit our patient’s individual financial needs.  We also accept major credit cards and offer convenient on-line bill pay options.
